Ascospores fusiform-ellipsoid, (8–) 10–15 x (2.3–)3–4 µm.
Widespread and common, fruiting on boletoid species, especially Xerocomellus and Xerocomus.
Unknown.
Initially a white mold on boletes, then becoming bright yellow. Easily confused with Hypomyces chrysospermus, which has much larger spores.
