LECCINUM MANZANITAE var. ANGUSTISPORUM Thiers, Mycologia 63:267. 1971
As in var. manzanitae, except that the spores reach only 3-4 µm in width and often average 1-2 µm longer. In all other aspects this variant is similar to the typical variety.
Habit, habitat, and distribution Solitary in soil under madrone and manzanita in coastal forests.
