Solitary to scattered on coniferous wood, primarily spruce, rare on pine.
Unknown.
This strange polypore has both an asexual and sexual form. The asexual form is at first white, soon becomes a brown mass of chlamydospores. In the polypore sexual form the pore surface is at first white, becoming pale cream with angular pores.
