Lepiota roseolivida
Mycologia 4(5): 234. 1912
Common Name: none
Synonym: Leucoagaricus roseolividus nom. prov.
For description see Vellinga & 'California Mushrooms'.
Solitary to scattered or in small clusters in soil and humus under Monterey cypress (Hesperocyparis macrocarpa) or redwood (Sequoia sempervirens); uncommon, fruiting from fall through mid-winter in coastal forests.
Unknown.
Lepiota roseolivida can be distinguished by a lilac-purple, fibrillose-tufted cap, slender white stipe with lilac-edged annulus, tissues that do not bruise red, and habit with redwood and Monterey cypress. Lepiota decorata is a somewhat larger, more robust, rarely collected species with deep pink or pinkish purple cap, and slightly smaller, ellipsoid spores.
This taxa belongs in Leucoagaricus, but the transfer has not been made.
